KERKYTHEA TUTORIAL PART 4: POST PROCESSING

This is the last of the Kerkythea tutorials and thinking back on it, the video doesn’t really have anything to do with Kerkythea. The video explains some basic steps I use to bring life to different areas of the base rendering in Photoshop. The burn and dodge tool are used extensively to quickly light areas missed in the initial rendering. My goal with this series of videos was to demonstrate the typical workflow I used from beginning to end in a concise manner. Actual renderings involve many test renderings as well as a lot of trial and error during post processing in Photoshop.

Waoh !

I was just about to leave Kerkythea to use Artlantis, but now, I'll keep on using Kerkythea, but I'll probably need to practice a lot on Photoshop !

Thanks for the tutorial !

Its always good to be proficient with Photoshop, however if you can use Artlantis, you should. There are other engines similar to Artlantic such as Hypershot that I have used, and they are great. Much faster and I like the final look much better.

Alex,

Your tutorials are amazing, and having greatly improved the way I work!

One thing, which I'm not sure you'll be able to answer, do you know anything about rendering animations in Kerkythea? I've heard and seen some good animations, but as, like you, I do alot of post-processing in Photoshop, therefore the image is greatly improved through PS, and not Kerkythea.

Do you have any tips?

My boss LOVES animations, and at the moment all I can provide him with is the low-quality, unrendered ones from Sketchup.

I've heard Adobe After Effects is quite good, but I don't know how well the Sketchup - After Effects integration works.

Thanks in advance!

You're the boss!

These are amazing and I'm learning a lot. I don't know how I would have managed without such ingenious tutor.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Alex,

I noticed when you removed the white of the Girls Scouts logo, you did not use Darken or Lighten, but used Multiply. Can you please explain what the Multiply blend mode does? I have seen you use it before on your Site plan image with the topography. Thanks for these tutorials...it finally feels good to have someone teach this stuff to me!
